Arriving at Lake Ruataniwha, Anthony drove around the lake, and then got out and walked around the water's edge, seeking a frame that worked. He finally waded in over a few rocks, planted the tripod down and waited for the water to go still enough to get the rocks through the water. In the end, a stunning result, with autumn yellows popping against the vibrant blue in the sky.
Lake Ruataniwha is a man-made lake in the beautiful Twizel area of Canterbury, that is popular with holidaymakers and boaters. It's also one of the main rowing venues in New Zealand, holding regular rowing regattas.
